Manning has just released a new PowerShell book, Learn Windows PowerShell 3 in a Month of Lunches, Second Edition by Don Jones & Jeffery Hicks. It is now available in print and eBook form, and you can win one of two eBook copies just by leaving a comment on this post.

  16. I made the suggestion at work for all the guys in the office to spend an hour or 2 on a Friday learning powershell lead by the guy that knows the most. Perhaps this book would be a better structured approach.

    I might have to pick up the updated version to read over Christmas before I start my next contract. Powershell knowledge isn’t a “nice to have” skill any more – it’s essential.

  22. Picked up the Powershell V2 #monthoflunches book at teched Orlando 2012. Excellent book well written and easy to follow. Can set your own pace but the title pretty much tells you that part.

  23. Don Jones has consistently been the best Powershell author since 2006, in my opinion. You can tell, even by the way he talks on the Powerscripting podcast that he pulls no punches and tells it like it it.

    I’m sure this will be a great book too and would love to own a copy.

  32. Started with Learn PowerShell In Months Of Lunches 2.0 a year back and that was awesome. Hoping same with this book as well specially when it covers 3.0/

  34. Once again, one of the few books that I have gone out of my way to recommend. Any of the Powershell in a month of lunches books, is a Must Have for anyone learning Powershell.

  38. Use Powershell on a limited basis for certain tasks. Would love to be able to actually create my own scripts to do more complex tasks.
